Mountain Trails has been helping deliver Youth at Risk programs for over 10 years, including Barnardos respite weekends, Anglicare respite, PCYC programs and more. We are committed to providing programs that challenge and impact youth, while also ensuring safety and respect.
Our remote location and large bush areas help to create a true wilderness experience, allowing youth to get away from the influence of everyday life and focus on managing themselves, learning responsibility, developing trust and working with others. Many of our staff have had years of experience in working with youth at risk in outdoor settings, and have done training in remote first aid, outdoor adventure, and behavior management skills.
Our Youth at Risk program is currently organised and funded through Barnardos Canberra. Where, one weekend a month, 15-25 youth participate in adventure-based activities and learn important life skills.
Mountain Trails also accepts youth at risk/agency bookings on our holiday camps, as we believe that it can be beneficial for the young person to participate in mainstream camps as well as youth at risk programs.
